Os resumimos las actividades de este Febrero realizadas en nuestro Cultural Center EL NIU FELIÇ – THE KHUSHI NEST de Katmandú (Nepal)
Además de las clases de Nepalí, Inglés, Matemáticas, Ciencias sociales, Filosofía, Yoga, Gimnasia, hemos hecho talleres de manualidades típicas de la cultura nepalesa como son el tejer con hilos hechos con plástico que parecen estropajos que usarán en su vida diaria, o el hilar algodón para las lamparitas Diyo y las Velas, hacerse sus propias Enaguas para llevar bajo el Sari…
Al Arte también le damos mucha importancia y lo enseñamos a través del Dibujo, de pequeñas Representaciones teatrales, canciones típicas y de otros continentes, Fotografías que hacen las alumnas para apreciar más la belleza que les rodea en su vida diaria. Veréis las fotos con el nombre de las alumnas que las han hecho…
Como veis la gran vocación pedagógica de las tres profesoras Sadikshya, Shanti y Eureka, da sus frutos de los que se benefician totalmente gratis todas la alumnas.

GANESH MAYA MAHARJAN
I am from Bhaktapur but I live in Chamati with my daughter, now she is married I live alone. I am able to read and write in Nepali. After studying in TKN, I can proudly say I can write, read and study in Nepali and also I can do some basic in mathematics as well. I am learning Basic English. Education is very important for women, in old age we have to depend on others for everything. If we are literate then it will be much help for others and also we can do it by our own without relying to others. I am very glad for this; I am able now all credit goes to TKN; thanks to Maria mam and all teachers for this.
ANJU SAPKOTA
I am from Chamti. I have only one daughter and she is doing job. My husband lives in abroad since 14 years but he is coming back when he has holiday to spend ti,e with us. I am alone, I want to share many things like my problems and happiness, after coming here I am learning nepali and mathematics. I also learn some workshop. I feel so happy. Thank you Maria mam and beautiful teachers to make us literate and gives us strength.
ASTA LAXMI MAHARJAN
I am Chamati. I am studying in The Khushinest since long time, nepali and Math. I have only one daughter so I will be alone at home, to use time I wanted to study nepali. I want to read an d write. I wish I could read and write few nepali. Teachers are doing hard work and effort to make us read and write. We are doing our best to study so thank You maria mam for all giving this opportunity.
BINDU MAYA TAMANG
I live in Dhungedhara. My husband is constructor. My kids are abroad. I work in garment in cutting thread and tidy clothes. Like this I pass my time and also earn few money. I want to study to learm some letters. After knowing this place which is nearby my workplace I decided to learn ½ hour so that I could able to read and write in nepali. I am learning nepali. I am very happy to learn at this age, I am also happy the teachers used to give training about many workshop which are very useful to us to be self dependent and skillfull so I want to give thank to three teachers and Maria mam.
Nhuchhe Maya Maharjan
I am from Chamati. My son is in America and daughter is in Australia. Next week, I am going to Australia to my daughter so now I know little alphabet of English. I am studying nepali, english and Math. Teachers are very kind, loving, caring and friendly. Thank you Maria, for the opportunity and creating home for women like us to share struggles, problems and happiness.

Women are very unaware of gynecologist problem so I want to share what I know about this topic and also why we should consult to Doctor frequently.
Women should see a gynecologist for annual wellness exams, cancer screenings (Pap smears, HPV tests), and reproductive health, including contraception, infertility issues, and STI testing. They provide essential care for menstrual issues, menopause management, and pelvic pain, helping to detect, treat, or prevent, serious health conditions
The Reasons for Gynecological Visits are:
Routine Preventive Care, Annual exams are crucial for monitoring reproductive health, performing breast exams, and checking for pelvic floor issues.
Cancer Screening & Prevention, Regular check-ups include Pap smears and HPV tests, which are critical for early detection and prevention of cervical, ovarian, and uterine cancers.
Reproductive Health & Family Planning, Gynecologists provide counseling and prescriptions for various birth control methods, including pills, IUDs, and implants.
Menstrual and Hormonal Issues, They address, diagnose, and treat concerns like irregular, heavy, or painful periods.
Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) Testing.
Menopause Management, Assistance with managing symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats, and vaginal dryness.
Pregnancy & Fertility, Testing and guidance for fertility issues and preconception counseling.
Overall Health & Safety, They offer a confidential space to discuss painful intercourse, sexual dysfunction, and, in some cases, to provide resources for domestic violence.

I am going to talk about Nepal is called as landlocked country.
Nepal is called a landlocked country because it is entirely surrounded by land—specifically by China to the north and India to the south, east, and west—and lacks any direct access to an ocean or sea. Situated in the Himalayas, its closest sea, the Bay of Bengal, is approximately 644 km away.
Key details regarding Nepal’s landlocked status:
Nepal is enclosed by land on all sides, bordered by the Tibet Autonomous Region of China to the north and India on the other three sides. It has no direct access to international maritime trade routes. Due to this, Nepal depends on neighboring countries, mainly India, for imports and exports. It is narrowly separated from Bangladesh by India’s Siliguri Corridor.
KHEMA SHRESTHA (SADIKSHYA), TEACHER
I want to talk about newar people wear Haku patasi, its typical dress. Why people wear it, where this dress came from and so on.
Haku Patasi is a traditional hand woven black cotton sari with a red border worn by Newar women in Nepal, particularly by the Jyapu community. It symbolizes cultural pride, heritage, and the power of women, often worn during festivals like Indra Jatra and Mha Puja. The black color represents stability and fertile soil, while the red border symbolizes life and divinity. Its Derived from Nepal bhasa Haku means «black» and Patasi means «sari». It represents the cultural identity of the Newar community and is believed to repel evil spirits. The outfit includes the black sari (often knee-length), a bhoto (double-breasted blouse), jani (a white sash), and a Gaa (shawl). Historically, it was daily wear for farming women due to its durability, but it is now mostly worn during festivals and special, sacred, or cultural occasions.
It is typically a simple, hand-woven cotton garment without heavy embroidery, emphasizing modesty and tradition.
